Mark Kozelek’s first solo EP Rock ‘N’ Roll Singer is getting a vinyl release on April 27th. No word on color or size, but it will be limited to 2000 copies.

The album features a couple of acoustic and electric AC/DC covers (“Rock 'N’ Roll Singer”, “You Ain’t Got a Hold On Me”, “Bad Boy Boogie”, a John Denver cover (“Around and Around”), and some excellent originals (“Metropol 47,” “Find Me, Ruben Olivares” and the beautifully melancholic “Ruth Marie”). It also features American Music Club drummer Tim Mooney, who later played on several Sun Kil Moon releases and was a close friend of Mark Kozelek’s. Tim died in June 2012 of a blood clot at age 53, and Mark sings about him in “Tavoris Cloud”.
