Prince skød til toppen af hitlisterne med Graffiti Bridge, og han missede. Filmen var en katastrofe, hvilket fik soundtracket til at sælge meget dårligt. Trods dets dårlige fremvisning er Graffiti Bridge ikke et dårligt album; faktisk er det ofte meget godt.
