Fire år efter udgivelsen trak Robyn Hitchcock Groovy Decay ud af cirkulationen og erstattede den med Groovy Decoy, en alternativ version af pladen, som hovedsagelig er samlet fra demoer, han indspillede med Soft Boys-bassisten Matthew Seligman; albummet indeholdt nogle versioner, der er identiske med Decay-materialet, samt en håndfuld nye sange.
