1994's Brutal Youth is the first album Elvis Costello recorded with the Attractions - Steve Nieve (organ, piano, harmonium), Bruce Thomas (bass) and Pete Thomas (drums, percussion) - since 1986's Blood and Chocolate. Produced by Mitchell Froom and engineered by Tchad Blake, the straight ahead raw rock 'n' roll record consists of 15 brisk Costello originals and also includes contributions from former producer Nick Lowe (bass).
