Barrett, Nessa - Tough Love

NEW VINYL LP ON WARNER MUSIC 2026

180 GRAM VINYL LP

Red / Black Marbled Vinyl.

With the LP "Tough Love Indie Exclusive Black & Red Vinyl Edition," released on Warner, Nessa Barrett presents a convincing work that, musically, forms a coherent continuation of her previous output. The artist, who began her career via social media channels and signed with Warner, combines dark pop melodies with clearly articulated lyrics about loss, self-doubt, and the dark sides of fame; this openness shapes both the more intimate ballads and the driving, electronically oriented tracks.

Barrett’s approach is defined by a combination of edgy synthesizers, distinctive bass lines, and a fragile yet forceful voice that heads straight for emotional fault lines without sacrificing melodic accessibility. Production partners such as Evan Blair repeatedly come to the fore, while collaborations—such as the single "La Di Die" with jxdn, which also involved Travis Barker—underscore the breadth of her pop spectrum.

The LP thus slots into a trajectory already evident on releases like "young forever" and "Aftercare": thematically dense, production-wise versatile, and focused on pop compositions that dress personal stories in a modern, electronically grounded sound. For listeners seeking direct, contemporary pop music with an introspective core, this release offers a clear positioning within the current pop landscape.
