According to the Porches Facebook page, “dark muscle” is the genre of the project fronted by singer/songwriter/producer Aaron Maine, a.k.a. Ronald Paris. It’s an oddly spot-on description of Maine’s brand of haunting synth-pop, steeped in post-rock influence. If the lead single “Hour” is any indicator, there’s plenty more gorgeous gloom to look forward to on Porches’ upcoming Domino debut.
