Formed in Solingen, Germany in the early-70s by vocalist Udo Dirkschneider, guitarist Wolf Hoffmann and bassist Peter Baltes, Accept rose to heavy metal prominence at the beginning of the '80s and played an integral role in the development of speed metal and Teutonic thrash metal.
