Notable as a debut for introducing the blistering pace of the diminutive leader. A very fine album, with the enthusiasm of the 18 boppers ratings before my review keeping it at 4.5 stars, but if you wanted to be critical you might note a long term tendency to run out of melodic ideas before the end of many solo's, a case of his fingers being quicker than his improv brain - a criticism levelled by some at his spiritual British equivalent Tubby Hayes. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Johnny_Griffin
