The Police’s second album, Regatta de Blanc, was released on A&M in 1979, resulting in the band’s major breakthrough success. A more polished set than their debut outing, it was named in cod-French to describe the group’s “white reggae” sound, with the instrumental title track awarded the Best Rock Instrumental Performance at the 1981 Grammy Awards. Hitting number one in the UK (and a very respectable 25 on the Billboard Hot 100), the album features two of the band’s biggest hits, with ‘Message In A Bottle’ and ‘Walking On The Moon’, propelling Sting and the band in to superstar status. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Police
