Considered to be one of Bob Dylan’s most influential albums ever recorded, “Highway 61 Revisited” Dylan decided to leave the acoustic sound behind and concentrate on using rock backing with a more poetic writing theme that led this album to the #3 spot on the US charts. The most popular song of the album “Like a Rolling Stone” reached #2 as well with the album receiving high accolades, even being ranked #4 on Rolling Stone’s 500 Greatest Albums of All Time. The only song that strayed from his new rock-blues sound was “Desolation Row,” the 11 minute poetic melody that received critical acclaim. Both songs have been performed frequently during his career and have been used as influence to up and coming musicians. These classic songs are what Bob Dylan is known for and what has brought him legendary status over the course of his career. http://www.bobdylan.com/
