In January 2009, Elbow performed the entirety of their Mercury Music Prize winning album The Seldom Seen Kid with the BBC Concert Orchestra in Studio One. The live rendition of the album which propelled Elbow from indie hopefuls to national treasures was witnessed by a select audience and was broadcast on Radio 2. The show marked the start of a landmark year for Elbow. A week later they were named Best British Band at the BRITS, whilst the tracks One Day Like This and Grounds For Divorce went on to win Ivor Novello Awards for Best Contemporary Song and Best Song Musically and Lyrically.
