David Gray is one of most-heard and most-liked songwriters ever since I discovered his breakthrough fourth album White Ladder back in the early 2000′s. This year, he returns with his tenth studio recording Mutineers - the follow-up to 2010′s Foundling - and this time a lot of things are being different. In a recent interview with The Telegraph, he explained why: “I’m bored with myself. I realised, after the last tour, I’m fed up with my basic line of inquiry, my angle, my schtick, the density of my voice, all these things needed to be escaped from.
