This long out-of-print Verve LP has some rare performances taken from altoist Johnny Hodges' recordings for the label. There is a long excerpt from "Jam Blues" and five complete blues-oriented selections, which also feature trumpeter Roy Eldridge, Ben Webster on tenor and either Vic Dickenson or Lawrence Brown on trombone. Some of the music has since resurfaced on the CD Not So Dukish, but most of the rest unfortunately remains unavailable.
