The band Hot Knives fell victim to bad timing despite possessing a wealth of genuine talent -- in 1976, they just missed the first wave of power pop in the early to mid-'70s, and they were too early for the skinny-tie era that would come as new wave began to enter the consciousness of music fans. Hot Knives were a fine pop band with plenty of energy, but they also had a strong folk-rock influence and stellar harmonies along with a dash of psychedelia
