Monaco (2000) is the self-titled second and final studio album by Monaco, following their debut album Music for Pleasure (1997). Monaco was a side project (1995–2000) of Joy Divsion and New Order bass player Peter Hook, alongside David Potts, the sole remaining member of Revenge. The album reflects Hook and Potts' shared passion for blending rock with electronic and dance music. While it retains some of the melodic sensibilities and bass-driven grooves reminiscent of New Order, it establishes it’s own distinct identity with a rawer and more introspective tone. Peter Hook’s signature melodic basslines are central to the album, providing a driving, rhythmic backbone to many tracks.
