NEW VINYL LP ON WARNER 1995/2026
2 X 180 GRAM VINYL LP.
The 1995 analog recording Mirror Ball was recorded in Seattle with producer Brendan O'Brien and features Pearl Jam's Eddie Vedder, Stone Gossard, Mike McCready, Jeff Ament and Jack Irons as Neil's backing band. Mirror Ball includes "Throw Your Hatred Down" and "I'm the Ocean."
Originally released on June 27, 1995, Mirror Ball was one of the coolest rock team-ups of the ‘90s. Neil Young linked up with Pearl Jam right as the band was blowing up. Because of label issues, Pearl Jam’s name didn’t appear on the cover, but their fingerprints were all over the record.
Jeff Ament, Stone Gossard, Mike McCready, Jack Irons, and Eddie Vedder all took part in the sessions, helping create a raw, loud, and straight-up electric album.
The record features fan favorites like I’m the Ocean, Throw Your Hatred Down, Downtown, and Scenery — tracks that perfectly fused Young’s wild guitar spirit with the Seattle sound. Those same sessions also gave fans the Merkin Ball EP, released under the Pearl Jam name.
This reissue finally puts one of the most wanted titles back on shelves for collectors and longtime fans alike. Mirror Ball still stands as one of the fiercest records in Neil Young’s catalog and one of the best cross-generation rock collabs ever.
