The Raincoats are often made to stand in as the poster girls of the Rough Trade and/or postpunk sound. But they almost don't fit the label. Thier first (and only good) album has an off-kilter, lanky energy. Sometimes chirpy, but more often just feels like you caught them in mid-frolic.
