Drawing inspiration from Ennio Morricone, Henry Mancini, John Barry, exotica pioneers Martin Denny and Les Baxter, as well as noir cinema, pulp fiction, cult television, and classic film scores, the new album unfolds like an anthology of interconnected instrumental tales - a world populated by grifters, gentleman losers, tropical adventurers, mysterious strangers, unlucky romantics and larger-than-life legends. The journey begins with "The Grifter," a swaggering introduction to the album's cinematic universe, before moving through the high-stakes intrigue of "The Only Game in Town," the tongue-in-cheek mythology of "The Rise & Fall of The TBG," the tropical escapism of "Monkey Drums & Tiki Drinks," and the noir-infused mischief of "Killer Negroni."
