Ron and Russell Mael jolted themselves out of a career slump around the turn of the millennium with their nineteenth Sparks album ‘Lil’ Beethoven’, originally released in 2002. Featuring the single ‘Suburban Homeboy’, it saw the duo build classical influences into their durable pop/rock aesthetic and rekindle interest in their art.
