With his 1977 breakthrough album, Oxygene, French composer Jean Michel Jarre gave his soul to electronic music, creating several series of unforgettable instrumental melodies and leading the synthesizer revolution of the '70s in the process. The album consists of six pieces, numbered simply Oxygene Part I-VI.  "Oxygene IV," the most well-known theme, went viral around the world upon its release, becoming so famous that many programs began using it as a jingle or a theme. The track helped make Jean Michel Jarre an international star and Oygene went on to sell in excess of 12 million copies.
