The band's first post-Joy Division album is heavy with the sound of their former selves, yet steps into the '80s with a few pop guitars and hooks added. Not that this is a happy record. Apart from the opener "Dreams Never End" and "Chosen Time," these tracks could have been included on Joy Division's bleak Closer.
